Travel Caution: Expect Hazardous Conditions Until Saturday!

WINTER STORM WARNINGS FOR ALL LOCAL COUNTIES UNTIL 7AM ET SATURDAY

Dangerous travel conditions are expected to persist into the weekend owing to extended stretches of sub-freezing temperatures. Saturday’s highs will just slightly exceed freezing, reaching the mid-30s in the valley and hovering near freezing in mountainous regions. A significantly colder Sunday morning, with temperatures in the teens, could result in road refreezing. Some melting is anticipated Sunday afternoon with sunshine and temperatures approaching 40. However, some secondary roads may refreeze by Monday morning as temperatures drop back into the 20s.

A wintry combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will persist through the evening, gradually diminishing to flurries overnight. Overnight lows are expected to be in the upper 20s to around 30.

A cloudy and icy start is expected Saturday, with some sunshine possibly breaking through the clouds during the afternoon. There could be flurries at times, yet conditions are expected to remain mostly dry. Highs will only be in the mid to upper 30s, with most elevated regions remaining below freezing.

Early Sunday morning temperatures are forecasted to drop into the mid to upper teens, followed by sunny weather and afternoon highs nearing 40.

A dry and colder-than-normal pattern is predicted for next week. Lows in the 20s are anticipated for Monday, followed by teens from Tuesday through Thursday. Low 40s are expected for Monday afternoon, with highs only reaching the 30s from Tuesday to Thursday.
