OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan women’s gymnastics squad emerged victorious in the initial session of the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad, scoring 195.925 on Friday evening (Jan. 10) at the Paycom Center. No. 14 Arizona placed second (195.825), with Clemson (195.350) and NC State (195.000) following.

The Wolverines walked away with three individual event titles. Jahzara Ranger achieved her second title in as many weeks, posting a 9.900 on floor exercise in the anchor position, sealing the meet for U-M. Carly Bauman captured the uneven bars title, scoring a matching 9.900, while Sophia Diaz earned her first career title with a 9.850 on the vault. Freshman Sophie Parenti also had a remarkable performance for Michigan, finishing third on the balance beam, and Paige Thaxton recorded a 9.850 on floor, with Ava Jordan delivering commendable routines on vault and uneven bars.

Michigan exhibited a strong vault performance in the initial rotation, with Jordan initiating the meet with a 9.750, followed by Ranger with a 9.800 in the second position. Jenna Mulligan continued to raise the scores, earning a 9.825 while Diaz closed the rotation with a 9.850. U-M concluded the first rotation with a cumulative score of 48.950, leading into the uneven bars.

Jordan successfully executed her second routine of the evening, tying her career-best with a 9.825, while Jacey Vore scored a 9.800. Bauman capped off the rotation with a 9.900, which allowed the Wolverines to maintain the lead at the midway point with a cumulative score of 97.925.

Parenti set the stage for Michigan on the beam in the third rotation, scoring a 9.850 to lead off, while Mulligan demonstrated her veteran prowess with a critical routine earning a 9.825 in the fourth position. Bauman anchored with a 9.800 as U-M retained the lead with a total of 146.700 after the third rotation.

Parenti produced another outstanding routine on floor with a score of 9.825 to kickstart the final rotation, while Thaxton scored 9.850 in the fourth spot for the Wolverines. Bauman registered a 9.875 to tie for second and Ranger delivered a 9.900 to claim the floor title and secure the victory for U-M.

Michigan begins its 2025 Big Ten Conference season next Friday (Jan. 17) when it heads to Michigan State for a 6 p.m. meet at the Breslin Center.
