In doubles, Michigan faced off against Ohio State, winning three of four encounters against the Buckeyes. Piper Charney and Jessica Bernales teamed up for the first time this season, securing a 6-4 victory over Ohio State’s Dani Schoenly and Sydni Ratliff.

The rest of the Michigan roster competed against players from Eastern Michigan and Michigan State in the afternoon.

Jones displayed remarkable skill in achieving her 12th victory of the season, dominating the initial 10 games for a 6-0, 6-2 win against EMU’s Iva Daneva. Similarly, Bernales lost only three games in her match, winning 6-3, 6-0 against Eastern’s Viki Hazmukova.

Miller claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory over EMU’s Marta Komar, contributing to a clean sweep for Michigan over the Eagles. Ava Bruno secured the last singles win for Michigan in the afternoon, achieving a 6-2, 6-4 triumph against Michigan State’s Hanna Tsitavets.

The Michigan Invitational continues on Saturday (Jan. 11), with U-M competing against Michigan State and Eastern Michigan in doubles at 10 a.m., followed by singles matches against Texas Tech.
