SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly triumphed in all but two events on Friday as both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads commemorated Senior Day with considerable achievements to conclude their home meet schedule.

To commence Senior Day with diving at 11:00 AM, Ava Lazovsky excelled with 280.13 points for the 3-meter victory and a Zone qualifying score. Additionally, for the first time since earning the title of Queen of the Diving Boards and recuperating from a persistent injury, Shayna Gayer appeared back to her full capabilities with a victory in the 1-meter (263.78).

On the men’s diving front, Lucas Lehrer dominated the springboard competitions, amassing 316.95 in the 3-meter and 295.35 in the 1-meter.

Summer Cheng achieved two individual event victories in the 50 Free (24.42) and 100 Fly (58.62) and contributed to a win in the 200 Free Relay (1:39.00) in the lead role alongside Ella Bettencourt, Rhian Neitzel, and Melia Costa.

Securing wins in the 100 Breast (1:07.64) and 200 IM (2:11.54) was Amalie Claus-Udarbe, who also aided Cal Poly’s 400 Medley Relay victory (3:58.44) with Kristin Der, Mikaela Gomez, and Keira Scott. Alex Seybold captured three individual victories in the 100 Breast (56.83), 200 Breast (2:05.44), and 200 IM (1:54.33). Sam Seybold, the younger sibling, emerged victorious in the 200 Back (1:50.84), contributing to a total of four wins for the Seybold family.

Jonathan Butler accounted for three wins, including one individual triumph in the 50 Free (20.82) and two relay victories in the 200 Free Relay (1:23.17) and 400 Medley Relay (3:20.58), both achieved alongside Drew Huston, Evan Yoo, and Evan O’Connell. Huston finished second or better in all his events, which like Butler also included three overall wins: 400 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, and 100 Back (50.64). Also securing three victories was Evan O’Connell, who, in addition to his two relay wins, also triumphed in the 100 Free (46.70).

Individually, Nick Elliott claimed the 200 Free (1:42.54), Lucas Meneghetti secured full points in the 500 Free (4:43.02), Will Newlands emerged victorious in the 200 Fly (1:53.01).

The regular season concludes with two meets in the Bay Area on consecutive days, facing Pacific on Jan. 17 and UC Davis on Jan. 18 before the Big West Championships in mid-February.
