Epic Showdown: Men’s Swimming & Diving Takes on Trinity and Clark This Saturday!

HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men’s swimming and diving squad returned to the aquatic center Saturday afternoon, facing a double-dual meet versus local rivals Trinity College and Clark University at the Trinity Natatorium in Hartford, Conn. The Blue Jays were defeated by the Bantams, 230-35, and the Cougars, 170-77.

HIGHLIGHTED PERFORMANCES

• 200 Yard Medley Relay – This relay, composed of freshmen Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.), Alex Carrier (Farmington, Conn.) and Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), achieved a fifth-place finish with a combined time of 1:50.24.
• 1000 Yard Free – Freshman Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) secured fourth place, recording a time of 12:24.89.
• 200 Yard Free – Hebb finished third, reaching the wall with a time of 1:56.34.
• 50 Yard Breaststroke – Brasky earned a fifth-place finish, stopping the clock at 30.09 seconds.
• 100 Yard Fly – Carrier achieved sixth place, with a time of 1:03.57.
• 50 Yard Free – Graduate student Joseph Guerin (Bristol, Conn.) led the team in seventh place, marking a time of 26.36 seconds.
• 100 Yard Free – Carrier claimed second in this event, clocking in at 52.72 seconds.
• 100 Yard Back – Capen placed fifth, finishing with a time of 1:04.34.
• 100 Yard Breaststroke – Guerin landed in sixth place, touching the wall at 1:13.43.
• 500 Yard Free – Carrier led the team with a seventh-place result, completing the race in 6:00.14.
• 50 Yard Fly – Brasky concluded in eighth place, with a time of 28.52 seconds.
• 100 Yard IM – Hebb took fourth place, finishing the event in 59.37 seconds.
• 800 Free Relay – The quartet of Guerin, Capen, Hebb, and Brasky ended in fourth place, combining for a time of 8:14.08.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

The Blue Jays will return to action on Saturday, January 18, when they host Gordon at the Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford. This meet will be designated as Senior Day for the Blue Jays.
