COLOMBIA, Mo. – SIUE concluded their second indoor meet of the season. Overall, the Cougars faced some formidable competition but performed admirably.
                                                                                                                                       
THROWS
Joel Degarcia participated in the men’s weight throw, finishing eighth with a distance of 13.83m. Degarcia also competed in the men’s shot put.
 
Three competitors took part in the women’s weight throw, including Maryiah Menicucci (9th/13.75m), Gabby Yaccino (10th/12.23m), and Abigail Irvin (18th/10.78).
 
Irvine additionally participated in the women’s shot put, securing 11th place with a throw of 8.25m.
 
JUMPS
Freshman Teagan Sullivan achieved second place in the women’s long jump with a leap of 5.74m, just behind Missouri’s Isabella Sokolova, who reached 5.76m.
 
Three additional athletes partook in the women’s long jump, including Sheena Cumberbatch (5th/5.30m), Folasade Oladipupo (6th/5.15m), and Cassidy Short (7th/4.86m).
 
Zaria Searcy spearheaded the Cougars in women’s high jump, finishing seventh at 1.61m. Following her were Aseanti Boone (9th/1.56m), Jada Fryer (10th/1.51m), and Harper Smith (11th/1.51m). On the men’s front, Drew Tucker placed third (2.00m) while Caden Belcher took sixth (1.85m) in high jump.
 
SPRINTS
In the women’s 60m, Kaylee Allen secured third place with a time of 7.84. Right behind her was Jazmin West (7th/7.92), followed by Vashanti Reynolds (20th/8.34), and Folasade Oladipupo (23rd/8.48).
 
In the men’s 60m, Tyler Bell led the Cougars, finishing sixth with a time of 6.95. Following closely were Konnor Bouman (15th/7.23) and Casey Borkowski (21st/7.38).
 
Chase Burston competed in both the men’s 60m (13th/7.22) and 200m (20th/23.02).
 
In the women’s 400m, Makayla White topped the Cougars, finishing third with a time of 1:00.78. Close behind her was Jaiden Parker in second at 1:02.90. Alise Simon came in seventh at 1:06.81.
 
For the men’s 200m, Taylor Lehman finished fourth with a time of 49.66. Just behind him was Konrad Sacha (7th/50.35), Simon McLaine (9th/51.46), Casey Borkowski (11th/52.03), and Jonah Grawer (12th/52.17).
 
Allen also participated in the women’s 200m, placing seventh at 25.93. Following her were Jaiden Parker (16th/26.82) and Zaria Searchy (27th/28.40)
 
HURDLES
Senior Vashanti Reynolds achieved fourth place for SIUE in the 60m hurdles (9.28). For the men’s division in 60m hurdles, Tyler Bell secured third at 8.29, while Taylor Lehman finished fourth at 8.33, and Simon McClaine concluded in sixth at 8.46.

Tyler Bell ended up third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.29. Also in competition were Taylor Lehman (4th/8.33), and Simon McLaine (6th/8.46).

 

MID-DISTANCE & DISTANCE

Petyton Tieffel was the sole competitor in the women’s 600m, finishing in fifth place with a time of 2:01.48.

 

In the women’s 800m, freshman Ella Goodman claimed third place with a time of 2:25.40, behind Oral Roberts’ Rushell Johnson (2:17.69) and Debroah Mazzei (2:19.94). Sophomore Megan Derrick also participated in the 800m (6th/2:33.02).

 

Erica Woodard placed seventh in the women’s mile with a time of 5:13.72. Other mile runners included Emilee Franklin (13th/5:33.64), Ana Keller (14th/5:35.00), Mia Loafman (17th/5:44.83), Courtney Anthonies (21st/5:50.12), and Alexis Kampwerth (22nd/5:51.69).

 

Logan Luttrell was the leading Cougar in the men’s mile, coming in 16th at 4:38.94. Andrew Perry trailed closely in 19th at 4:40.45.

 

The Cougars had a plethora of athletes participating in both the men’s and women’s 3000m, including Sophia Harrison (5th/10:59.03), Riley Doyle (6th/11:08.16), Ariann Neisen (7th/11:51.43), Tanner Emerson (3rd/8:43.93), Jackson Edwards (6th/8:57.43), Tyler Guthrie (8th/8:58.01), and D’Andre Watson (13th/9:28.85).
