PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh women’s track and field took part in the Penn Select on the grounds of the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks faced off against competitors such as Saint Joseph’s, La Salle, Howard, Rutgers, Rider, Monmouth, Temple, and the host Penn.
JUMPS
Sophomore Gaea DePass and senior Izabel Fronc both participated in the high jump for the Mountain Hawks. The duo both secured seventh place, each achieving a height of 1.57m in their attempts.
In long jump, senior Lillian Mauger finished in 16th place with a jump of 5.18m. Sophomore Emma Sanford placed 20th with a distance of 4.71m.
Lehigh’s sole pole vaulter was junior Laura Reigle, who finished in 11th position with a height of 3.20m.
Senior Lauren Roy and junior Grace Nation took part in the triple jump for the Mountain Hawks. Roy ended in 11th place with a distance of 10.13m, while Nation secured 13th at 9.78m.
MID-DISTANCE
Six Mountain Hawks raced in the 1 mile, spearheaded by junior Abby Klebe, who clinched victory with a time of 4:54.72. Senior Riley Morrell achieved a new personal record, finishing 10th at 5:10.84. Senior Maddison Hayes followed closely in 11th at 5:10.93, while sophomore Grace Hughes also set a personal best to finish 14th at 5:15.30. Sophomore Elizabeth Jenulis was 15th at 5:15.41, and first-year Jacqueline Gifford concluded in 30th at 5:41.31.
Senior Savanah Beavers, first-year Kaitlyn Highduch, first-year Elizabeth Ehrhardt, and first-year Chloe Browne represented Lehigh in the 3000m. Beavers finished 2nd at 10:08.59, Highduch was 11th at 10:33.51, Ehrhardt ended 18th at 10:47.84, and Browne placed 22nd at 10:58.66.

Lehigh had three squads competing in the 4x400m relay, with Lehigh’s B team being the top finisher in seventh. Lehigh A and Lehigh C finished in 11th and 12th places respectively.
SPRINTS/HURDLES
Lehigh’s leading finisher in the 60m sprint was junior Gianna Mangili, achieving 15th place with a time of 7.87.
Five athletes participated in the 200m for Lehigh. The top performer for the Mountain Hawks was junior Grace Kennedy, finishing ninth at 25.41. Mangili secured 20th at 26.35, followed by sophomore Kasey White in 21st with a time of 26.44. First-year Jade Sanders took 24th at 26.52, while sophomore Iciar Gorospe Valenzuela completed the event in 37th place with a time of 30.21.
In the 400m, Kennedy stood out for Lehigh once again, finishing eighth at 57.38. Sanders set a new personal record, landing 19th at 1:00.56, while White followed closely behind in 20th at 1:00.58. First-year Adelaide Videon-Perino finished 29th at 1:02.47, sophomore Mila Jovanovic took 30th at 1:02.88, and first-year Lanae Carrington ended in 31st at 1:02.96.
THROWS
First-year Emily Kolodziej achieved the farthest throw in the weight throw for Lehigh, placing 10th and setting a new personal record at 14.30m. Junior Jennifer Whipple followed in 12th with a throw of 14.21m, while sophomore Avery Dowkus ranked 14th at 13.16m. Junior Grace Aggen secured 16th with a throw of 12.57m, and first-year Olivia Dubrow finished 18th at 11.14m.
Kolodziej was also the highest finisher in the shot put for Lehigh, ranking sixth with a throw of 12.68m. Aggen finished ninth at 12.10m, with Dowkus right behind in 10th at 12.09m. First-year Alyson Marmor placed 15th with an 11.25m throw, while first-year Madeline Hussey secured 17th at 11.06m.
The Mountain Hawks will return to the University of Pennsylvania next weekend on Saturday, January 18 for the Quaker Invitational.
