NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara swimming teams showcased dominance against Gannon University during Saturday’s dual meet, with both Purple Eagles squads achieving significant victories. The men’s team triumphed 188-71, while the women’s team won 187-73.
 
Sophomore Natalie Killion stood out by breaking the school record in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a time of 56.10, surpassing the prior record. Additionally, she secured a win in the 200 backstroke (2:04.77).
 
Freshman Holden Brock established a new pool record in the 200-yard backstroke (1:52.06). He complemented this by winning the 100-yard event with a time of 52.19.
 
Marty Divis led the women’s distance team with a decisive victory in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:41.55), finishing almost 18 seconds ahead of her nearest rival. Alaina Pitton maintained her excellent performance in the breaststroke events, clinching the 100-yard race in 1:04.32 and later winning the 200 IM (2:09.04).
 
On the men’s side, freshman Jordan Grab achieved an outstanding victory in the 1000 freestyle (10:14.39), while Reid Tichy finished first in the 200 freestyle (1:43.29) and contributed to several relay wins. Lance Cruz excelled in the 200 IM, registering a time of 1:54.75.
 
Sean Finley shone in the breaststroke events, securing victory in the 100-yard race (56.54) and the 200-yard event (2:06.17).
 
The Purple Eagles also excelled in the relay events, winning all four competitions. The men’s 200 freestyle relay team consisting of Tichy, Levi Morgan, Finley, and Nathan Dragon concluded the meet with a victorious finish of 1:24.36.
