NEWBERG, Ore. – The Whitworth University swimming squads experienced their initial meet competition in six weeks, seizing the opportunity by triumphing over George Fox University in a Northwest Conference matchup on the road. The Pirate women’s team secured victory in all 11 events, winning convincingly with a score of 148-54 against the Bruins, while the men took 9 out of 11 events in a 143-61 win.

Both teams continued their undefeated streak in dual meets this season against NWC competitors.

Isabella Hoopes clinched victory in two individual events and participated in the breaststroke leg of the victorious 400-yard medley relay, leading the Whitworth women’s team. The Pirates commenced the meet with a relay win as Julia Schoenfelder, Hoopes, Maria Girbacea, and Makhaela Parrish finished in 4:10.20.
