COLUMBIA, Mo. — No. 21 University of Missouri wrestling lost a home match to No. 15 Stanford, 27-15, Sunday afternoon at Hearnes Center. The Tigers’ record stands at 2-7 (1-1 Big 12), while the Cardinal improved to 5-2 (0-1 ACC). Mizzou secured victories in three of the nine contested matches, achieving one bonus-point win.

Commencing at 125 pounds, Stanford forfeited the weight class, awarding freshman Gage Walker the win. At 133 pounds, redshirt sophomore Kade Moore stayed competitive with 10th-ranked Tyler Knox until Knox ultimately claimed the win. However, Mizzou triumphed at 141 pounds when redshirt junior Josh Edmond defeated Jason Miranda, 9-4. Although a couple of closely matched contests followed, including James Conway‘s nearly successful recovery against No. 28 Grigor Cholakyan in the day’s sole ranked clash, the visitors led 10-9 at halftime.

Stanford extended their advantage after the break, securing two victories by decision and technical fall. Redshirt junior Colton Hawks pinned Abraham Wojcikiewicz, marking his second pinfall win this season and his fourth bonus-point victory. The Cardinal concluded the dual by winning the final two weight classes.
