Vermont Dominates the Swim & Dive Stage!

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Upon returning to the Empire State, Siena Swim & Dive experienced a defeat against the visiting University of Vermont, with a score of 187.5-104.5 at the Siena Swim Center on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Sydney Murray captured first place on the 1m board with a personal record of 201.38. Additionally, she secured second on the 3m board with a score of 203.18. 
 
Shaylea Triller and Natalie Blume were in close competition in the 50 free, taking second and third, only 0.01 seconds apart. Triller earned second place in 25.13, while Blume followed in third at 25.14. Triller also finished second in the 100 free (54.03). Gabrielle Rentosa finished in second place in the 100 back, timing in at 1:00.22, whereas Hope Ivanovich secured second in the 100 fly (1:00.11). 
 
Kylie Carter achieved a second place result in the 200 breast, reaching the wall in 2:29.17. She also placed third in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.73. Olivia Martin attained third place in the 100 breast, registering a time of 1:10.61. GayLynn Kirn recorded a third place finish in the 200 back, concluding her race in 2:12.52, and subsequently achieved second in the 200 IM (2:13.07). 
 
Siena excelled by securing second and third in the 200 medley relay, where the quartet of Rentosa, Triller, Leslie Dame, and Carsyn Ide finished as runner-up in 1:50.94, while Martin, Carter, Mea Amedio, and Camryn Raines came in third at 1:52.05. 
 
In the 200 free relay, the group of Triller, Raines, Amedio, and Carter placed second in 1:40.03, followed by the pair of Rentosa, Blume, Mya Reed, and Kaci Owens who finished third in 1:40.37. 
 
The Saints will return to the pool at noon next Saturday, Jan. 18, for their final home competition of the season against Stonehill. Before the event, the team will honor their graduating members Maddie Buck, Kylie Carter, Olivia Martin, Mya Reed, and Shaylea Triller. The ceremony is set to begin 30 minutes before the meet at 11:30 a.m.
