ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Hamilton College achieved a clean sweep in a tri-meet against Rochester Institute of Technology and the nationally ranked No. 24 Ithaca College at RIT’s Judson Pool on Saturday, Jan. 11.

The Continentals secured first place in six events, including the final 200-yard freestyle relay, which turned out to be the highlight of the day. The team comprising Chloe Lan ’28, Paige Wielgus ’28, Carolyn Miner ’27 and Jade Matthias ’26 clocked in at 1:39.66, finishing just four one-hundredths of a second ahead of RIT.

The two-time All-American Matthias maintained her momentum in her initial meet of this season after studying off-campus last fall. She took first place in the 50 free (24.62) and the 100 backstroke (59.27).

Zoe Reynolds ’28 also triumphed in two individual events. Reynolds recorded the quickest time in the 200 butterfly (2:14.34) and the 200 individual medley (2:13.20).

Brooks Risher ’27 emerged as Hamilton’s leading distance freestyle swimmer, finishing first in the 1,000 free (11:00.31) and second in the 500 free (5:27.04).

The Continentals will face off against Williams College and Middlebury College at Williams on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m.
