Jaloni Cambridge Shines as Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week and Earns Honor Roll Spot!

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference revealed its weekly honors on Monday. Freshman guard Jaloni Cambridge was recognized as Big Ten Freshman of the Week and included on the Big Ten Honor Roll following her performances against No. 25 Michigan and Oregon during the previous week.

Cambridge propelled the Buckeyes to two victories last week. She recorded an average of 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game in the matchups against Michigan and Oregon. In the away victory at No. 25 Michigan, Cambridge topped the game with 29 points, equaled her personal best six rebounds, along with four assists and a steal. Cambridge completed 11-of-23 (.478) shooting from the field and was merely two points away from her personal best while being one basket from her career-high. In the home victory against Oregon, Cambridge concluded the game with 13 points, four rebounds, and one steal in a little over 20 minutes of play.

Throughout the season, Cambridge averages 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.2 steals per game, featuring nine games in double figures and three 20-point games (two occurring this month). She ranks among the top five in the Big Ten for steals/game, within the top ten for assists/game, and is also in the top 20 for scoring, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and assist/turnover ratio.
