PASADENA, Calif.— Pasadena Fire Chief Chad Augustin has ordered the implementation of a Red Flag Warning and Parking Limitations within the city. This notice will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, due to severe fire weather conditions. An additional extension of the Red Flag Day is conceivable.

To facilitate better access for fire personnel and resident evacuations, parking is prohibited on designated narrow and/or winding roads within Pasadena’s urban-wildland interface zones. Vehicles on these restricted routes will receive citations and may be towed. For further details, including the full list of streets with parking limitations, please visit CityOfPasadena.net/Fire/Red-Flag-Parking-Restrictions.

This is an ideal moment to assess your evacuation strategies and ensure that emergency supplies are equipped with all necessities in case evacuation is required. Check out ReadyforWildfire.org for additional guidance on preparing for and preventing wildfires. Maintain fire safety practices by avoiding activities that generate sparks, reporting any smoke, and staying informed.

If you have not done so, we urge you to register for the Pasadena Local Emergency Alert System (PLEAS) to obtain voice, email, and/or text emergency alerts. PLEAS messages will only be dispatched in circumstances of imminent danger necessitating actions like evacuation. Once registered with PLEAS, we also suggest signing up for the County’s Alert LA County mass notification service.

Nixle serves as the main notification system for the Pasadena Police Department. Enroll at Nixle.com to receive alerts via text and/or email. You can also text your ZIP code to 888777 to opt-in.
