13 Must-See Gadgets That Stole the Show at the Convention

The Consumer Electronics Show is an annual technology trade exhibition that essentially dominates Las Vegas for an entire week each January. Numerous tech companies converge in various exhibition halls to showcase their newest products and prototypes before they become available to the public — I’ve roamed over 10 miles in just one day at CES trying to absorb everything on display.

Although I did not observe the event in person this year, I watched from home and discovered several remarkable products worth sharing. Below are my top picks from CES 2025.

Top products from CES 2025

I curated a selection of practical, groundbreaking, and unique products across categories such as smart home, laptops, skincare, and more. I also aimed to include a blend of items that are currently available and those slated for future release.

The offerings at CES are frequently previews or prototypes — most products on this list won’t be available for purchase just yet.

Best smart frame: PocketBook InkPoster (available for pre-order)

This may be the digital art frame I’ve been longing for. It employs state-of-the-art color E Ink screen technology to showcase a vivid, glare-free, paper-like image, as claimed by the manufacturer. The device requires charging only about once per year, and it connects to the InkPoster app for uploading and managing artwork. Constructed from aluminum, the frame is offered in sizes of 13.3, 28.5, and 31.5 inches. My sole desire is for the cost to be slightly lower.

Top vacuum: Roborock Saros Z70

Roborock manufactures some of our preferred robotic vacuums, and this latest flagship variant boasts a significant, articulating arm that can pick up and move small objects aside while it cleans. During its inaugural cleaning, the robot identifies items to lift, then returns to remove those objects and clean those areas afterward, according to the brand. The arm tucks neatly into the robot when not active.

Similar to the company’s other premium robot vacuums, the Saros Z70 can vacuum as well as mop, intelligently mapping and navigating your home. It also includes a charging base that refills the robot’s water tanks, cleans its mops, and empties its dustbin.

Best laptop: Lenovo ThinBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable

This 14-inch Lenovo laptop features a screen that can extend up to 16.7 inches high at the touch of a button (and with some motor whirring). Initially, the extra screen space is neatly folded within the laptop’s casing. Pressing a specific key or presenting your hand to the webcam activates the motors and expands the display. Otherwise, it resembles a conventional laptop, with a relatively compact form-factor and vibrant OLED screen. The laptop will be available for sale in June 2025, starting at $3,499, according to the company.

Best portable: Roam SodaTop

We adore sparkling water makers, yet they usually remain restricted to the kitchen countertop. No longer with the Roam SodaTop. It’s a bottle cap that accommodates a CO2 canister. Attach it, insert the canister, and voilà: carbonated water right in whichever water bottle you have (or Roam’s customized bottles) wherever you may be.

Best robotic companion: Mirumi

Mirumi is an adorable little robot crafted to behave in a childlike manner — it tilts its head to express curiosity, shyness, and other sentiments. It features long arms that you can manipulate to attach it to a bag or purse, or simply place it on your arm. It’s being produced by Yukai Engineering, a brand known for its charming robotic companions prior to this creation. It includes sensors inside that let it react to touch, movement, and distance. I find it utterly delightful.

The brand intends to initiate a crowdfunding campaign for the product in autumn 2025, with a projected price of approximately $70.

Best smartphone: TCL 60 XE Nxtpaper 5G

This affordable smartphone from TCL seems fairly ordinary until you press a particular button on its right side — it transitions the phone from standard mode to an e-reader-like “Ink Mode.” You can determine the extent of the Ink Mode, though the Max Ink Mode appears most intriguing — it restricts notifications and even limits app capabilities for a more e-reader-like experience, enhancing the battery life to as much as 27 days, per the brand. The phone is set to debut in the U.S. this year for $199.99.

Best mobile accessory: Belkin Stage PowerGrip

Have you ever desired for your iPhone to feel more like a compact camera? This iPhone accessory from Belkin adds a substantial grip and a camera button to your iPhone. It attaches magnetically via MagSafe and also serves as a power bank, wirelessly charging your phone or another device with the integrated cord. It will be available in five colors, launching sometime in May 2025.

Best gaming device: Lenovo Legion Go S

The initial Lenovo Legion Go was not among my preferred portable gaming consoles. This updated model might change that,

primarily due to one model being equipped with SteamOS.

One of the factors that make the Steam Deck one of the finest handheld gaming devices is its operating system — SteamOS is swift, user-friendly, and straightforward, particularly when contrasted with several Windows handhelds I’ve experienced previously. The Lenovo Legion Go S will be the inaugural non-Steam Deck console to incorporate SteamOS — I eagerly anticipate its performance. The Lenovo Legion Go S, driven by SteamOS, will launch in May 2025, with a projected starting price of $499.99, as reported by the brand.

Most entertaining TV: LG StanbyMe 2

While this may not be the most functional TV at CES, it unquestionably ranks as the most entertaining. The Stanbyme 2 is a 27-inch battery-operated television that you can take anywhere — it offers up to four hours of active display time. At the exhibition, the brand showcased accessories such as a carrying strap and a folio case that gives it the appearance of a large tablet. The remote snaps magnetically to the frame and features two USB-C ports for charging and accessories, plus one HDMI input.

Top skin-care: L’Oreal Cell BioPrint

This is a tabletop apparatus that can deliver individualized analysis and evaluation of your skin in about five minutes utilizing a skin sample, according to the brand. It provides information on aspects such as your skin’s biological age, barrier function, and wrinkle formation, alongside how susceptible your skin might be to issues like dark spots or enlarged pores, as well as how it will react to specific active ingredients like retinol, and more. It appears to be targeted more towards professionals and dermatologists than personal home usage.

Skin-care runner-up: Nanoleaf LED Light Therapy Face Mask (pre-order)

Nanoleaf is among our preferred smart lighting brands — this is the initial skin care product from the company. The brand has produced superior smart lighting solutions for years, and although a light therapy mask may seem an unusual shift at first, it still involves lights, only these are designed to conform around your face. Besides, Therabody, a brand renowned for its massage devices, also produces one of our favorite red light therapy wands, demonstrating that you never know.

The primary reason I am looking forward to this release is the price — $150. FDA-cleared red light therapy masks from credible brands generally cost significantly more than that, based on my experience. If the product performs well, it could be an excellent budget-friendly alternative in the market.

Best earbuds: Audio-Technica ATH-CKS50TW2 Wireless Earbuds

These earbuds, when combined with the charging case, can achieve up to 40 hours of battery duration with noise cancellation enabled and up to 60 hours with it disabled — that’s more than double many of the leading wireless earbuds. The earbuds also magnetically connect, automatically powering them off — this is a fantastic battery-saving feature for those who do not always bring the carrying case.

Top outdoor: Wonder Petal Outdoor Camera

This outdoor camera is built to detect and capture (and film) wildlife within your garden. Similar to the brand’s intelligent bird feeder, it automatically photographs wildlife it encounters and features a live video stream you can access via an app on your phone. The Wonder utilizes AI for identifying species and summarizing daily activities. Wonder is set to debut on Kickstarter in the spring.
