NEW YORK — The Director of Rowing at Columbia, heavyweight head coach Tom Terhaar, along with lightweight head coach Nich Lee Parker, and women’s head coach Emerson Curry, have revealed the 2025 schedules for their respective programs.
The heavyweight rowing team starts its season on April 5 against Rutgers at Overpeck Park in the Collins Cup, a title Columbia has secured for the past 18 years. On April 12, the Lions will compete against Penn and Princeton in the Childs Cup at Overpeck Park. Columbia will meet Yale and Penn in the Blackwell Cup held in Philadelphia on April 19.
Following this, the Lions will head to Hanover, N.H. to participate in the Lake Morey Invite on April 26-27 against Dartmouth. On May 4, Columbia will face Navy in Mercer County, N.J.
The lightweight rowing team will kick off its 2025 season on March 29-30 at home in Overpeck Park for the National Collegiate Lightweight Invite versus Princeton, Cornell, and Navy. Columbia will host Drexel, Harvard, and Georgetown on April 5.
This year’s Dodge Cup against Yale and Penn is set to take place in Philadelphia on April 12. The Lions will then travel to Oak Ridge, Tenn. for the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Race on April 20-21. Columbia will welcome Cornell and MIT on May 3 for the Geiger Cup and then play host to Dartmouth on May 4 for the Subin Cup.
Both heavyweight and lightweight teams will compete in the Eastern Sprints on May 18 in Worcester, Mass. The 2025 season for Columbia heavyweight and lightweight rowing will conclude from May 30 to June 2 at the IRA Championships in Camden, N.J.
The women’s rowing team begins its 2025 season with the Big 10/Ivy Duel on April 5-6. Additionally, on April 12, Columbia travels to Boston for the Woodbury Cup against Northeastern.
Following this, the Lions will head to Durham, N.C. for the Wheeler Invite on April 25-26. Columbia is also set to race in the Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass. on May 4, with the Ivy League Championships occurring in Princeton, N.J. on May 17-18.
