Aggieland Athletic Adventures: The Spirit of Texas A&M Sports

NEW ORLEANS – Texas A&M track & field’s Auhmad Robinson has been honored as USTFCCCA Men’s National Athlete of the Week for his record-setting performance at the McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational, as announced by the organization on Monday.


Robinson made a strong impression in his initial competition of the 2025 season, showcasing his prowess in the men’s 300m at the second annual McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational. The junior competed in the final heat of the event, creating a significant lead over his rivals with a time of 32.34, which established a new A&M school record.

The Spring, Texas, native also secured his place in the 300m collegiate record books, as his performance ranks him as the No. 3 all-time collegiate athlete in this event and is the fourth-fastest time recorded by a collegiate competitor.


Building upon his successful weekend, he contributed to the Maroon & White clinching the meet title, joining the 4x400m relay team that included DeMarco Escobar, Cutler Zamzow, and Kimar Farquharson to deliver A&M’s 12^th victory of the meet. The team finished with a time of 3:05.80, which currently leads the nation after the first weeks of competition.

Robinson and the Aggies will be back in action this weekend as they travel to the Corky Classic in Lubbock, Texas, scheduled for Jan. 17-18.
