GLIAC Shines Spotlight on Outstanding Swimmers and Divers of the Week!

GLIAC — The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has revealed its weekly accolades following the 10th week of competition for the 2024-25 swimming & diving season. Grand Valley State claimed all the honors, with Matt Bosch, Lucy Hedley, Carter Wood, and Macy Polasek receiving recognition. 

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Matt Bosch, Grand Valley State

Matt Bosch excelled at Saturday’s competition against Wayne State University, triumphing in all four events. He contributed to setting a pool record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:22.82. Bosch also secured first in the 100 freestyle (45.11), 200 freestyle (1:39.20), and 100 butterfly (50.09), propelling the Lakers to a remarkable team performance.

WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Lucy Hedley, Grand Valley State
Lucy Hedley delivered an exceptional performance, achieving victories in the 100, 200, and 500 freestyle events with times of 51.94, 1:52.75, and 5:05.01, respectively, in the Lakers’ competition versus Wayne State University. Hedley was also a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team, concluding with a time of 1:38.11.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Carter Wood, Grand Valley State
Carter Wood captured the victory in the 1 meter dive with a score of 309.23. He finished third in the 3 meter dive, scoring 283.88.

WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Macy Polasek, Grand Valley State
Macy Polasek achieved first place for the Lakers in the 1 meter dive with a score of 242.63. She subsequently placed third in the 3 meter dive, scoring 233.63.
