Jacey Schuler Shines Bright on Softball America’s Freshman Watch Radar!

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State softball first-year player Jacey Schuler was selected for Softball America’s Freshman Watch List on Tuesday morning. Schuler is among eight student-athletes that comprised the No. 23-ranked recruiting class by Extra Innings Softball last year. 

Schuler arrives in East Lansing with a notable array of achievements having been recognized as a Second Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) High School All-American on two occasions. 

Over four years at Antioch Community High School, Schuler accumulated three successive Lake County News-Sun Softball Player of the Year awards while guiding the Pilots to a second consecutive 3A runner-up finish in 2024. Schuler concluded her senior season with a 23-4 record, posting a 1.54 ERA and 321 strikeouts across 172 innings pitched, while also batting .523 with 11 home runs and 44 RBIs. 

A four-time Illinois Softball Coaches Association Class 3A First Team All-State selection, Schuler’s high school career culminated with a total of 1,113 strikeouts in the circle and a 1.28 ERA, along with a .508 career batting average, 35 home runs, and 205 RBIs at the plate. Her five career grand slams rank second in Illinois High School Association (IHSA) history, and her 205 RBIs are positioned at No. 13. 

Schuler was ranked No. 36 in the Class of 2024 according to Extra Innings and positioned No. 42 by Perfect Game.
