DeKalb Unveils Special Sanitation Schedule for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration

Sanitation service will operate one day later for all clients

In recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20, the collection of garbage, recyclable materials, and yard trimmings for residential clients will follow a modified collection schedule outlined below:

Monday, Jan. 20 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day recognized. No sanitation service.

Tuesday, Jan. 21 – Residential clients whose usual collection day is Monday, Jan. 20, will receive service on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Wednesday, Jan. 22 – Residential clients whose usual collection day is Tuesday, Jan. 21, will receive service on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Thursday, Jan. 23 – Residential clients whose usual collection day is Wednesday, Jan. 22, will receive service on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Friday, Jan. 24 – Residential clients whose usual collection day is Thursday, Jan. 23, will receive service on Friday, Jan. 24.

The North Transfer Station will be open from 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, with normal operating hours resuming on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The Customer Care call center, administrative building, Central Transfer Station, and Seminole Road Landfill will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 21, during standard operating hours.
