NEEDHAM, Massachusetts—Tripadvisor revealed its inaugural category for the 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Destinations. Every year, Tripadvisor evaluates millions of reviews provided by a worldwide community of travelers to highlight its selections. The categories for the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destinations include Top Destinations, Trending Destinations, Culture Destinations, Food Destinations, and Honeymoon Destinations. This year, Tripadvisor introduces two fresh subcategories; Solo Travel Destinations, and a special 25th-anniversary sub-category featuring Top Destinations of the Last 25 Years derived from all-time reviews.

The Travelers’ Choice Awards feature locations with the most exceptional ratings and reviews from international travelers during the past year on the Tripadvisor platform.

Kristen Dalton, president of Tripadvisor, stated, “Drawing upon the more than one billion reviews and opinions available on our site today, Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards represent the favorites of the global travel community—from the destinations themselves to all their unique attributes including restaurants, accommodations, and experiences.”

This year, London earned the title of Top Destination in the World, claiming the crown from Dubai, which had maintained first place since 2022. The U.K. capital is also celebrated for its dining scene as well as cultural and heritage offerings, securing second place globally in the best Food Destinations and third in Culture Destinations. Furthermore, the city topped Tripadvisor’s exclusive 25th-anniversary list, recognized as the prime destination from the last 25 years of reviews on the site.

In the United States, New York City leads the domestic rankings and is prominently featured among the top Food Destinations in the states. Other entries include warm-weather havens such as Oahu and the Florida Keys, urban centers like Chicago and Las Vegas, as well as cultural hotspots like New Orleans and Washington D.C.
