Lehigh Welcomes Boston University for an Electrifying Midweek Clash!

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s basketball team is set to face Boston University on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Mountain Hawks currently possess a 12-4 record (3-1 PL), while the Terriers sit at 7-8 (1-3 PL). This match will be broadcasted on ESPN+. 

Lehigh comes off an impressive 90-51 victory against Army on January 12. The Mountain Hawks delivered their finest shooting display of the season, hitting 33-of-57 (57.9%) from the field, and excelled from beyond the arc, recording 10-of-18 (55.6%). 

Fifth-year player Maddie Albrecht netted a season-best 24 points, leading the team to victory. Albrecht was honored with a Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday after averaging 22.5 points, four rebounds, and two steals while shooting 64% overall. Albrecht has achieved back-to-back 20-point games, following a 21-point outing against Colgate on January 8. 

The Billings, Montana native ranks fourth in the league for points per game (15.4) and leads in field goal efficiency (53%). 

First-year forward Belle Bramer and sophomore forward Whitney Lind both achieved personal bests against the Black Knights. Bramer scored 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, while Whitney Lind added 13 points, hitting 5-of-5 from the field. Lehigh also tallied a total of 21 assists on 33 successful field goals. 

Senior guard Colleen McQuillen distributed a game-high five assists, and sophomore guard Jessie Ozzauto achieved a career-high of four assists. McQuillen is ranked fifth in the league for assists per game (3.4). 

The Terriers recently faced a 61-49 defeat against Colgate on January 11. Bella McLaughlin led Boston University with a team-high of 12 points. 

Alex Giannaros stands as the sole Terrier averaging double-digit points, contributing 15 points per contest. Boston University averages 55.9 points per game while allowing 65.0. 

Lehigh has a historic record of 12-12 against Boston University. The Mountain Hawks encountered a 89-78 defeat in their latest matchup on February 28. However, they secured a 64-62 victory the last time the Terriers visited Lehigh on February 3, with Giannaros missing a layup that could have tied the game as time expired. 

Looking ahead, Lehigh will travel to Baltimore to face Loyola on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Reitz Arena. Saturday’s game will also be broadcasted on ESPN+.
