Sooner Pride: The Spirit of University of Oklahoma Athletics

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men’s tennis squad is prepared to launch their 2025 season with three contests on their home turf.

The Sooners kick off the season against Omaha on Thursday at 5 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Sunday facing Cornell at 12 p.m. and UT Arlington at 5 p.m.

Oklahoma has a record of 2-0 against Omaha, with their last encounter occurring in 2019. In the previous season, the Sooners triumphed over both Cornell and UTA during the regular season. OU met UTA again in the playoffs, overcoming the Mavericks to progress to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Sooners commence the season as the No. 10 ranked squad nationwide and the No. 2 team within the SEC.

During the fall season, OU secured 105 matches and qualified three competitors for the NCAA Individual Championships, in addition to earning three regional championship titles.

In the 2023-24 season, Oklahoma registered a record of 21-5 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. The team achieved three victories over top-15 ranked teams and finished as runners-up in conference play.

The Sooners are bringing back five competitors from the 2024 season namely Jordan Hasson, Luis Alvarez, Kholo Montsi, Hank Trondson and Asahi Harazaki. Fresh faces Bruno Nhavene, Oscar Lacides, Vojtech Petr, Orel Kimhi and Alejandro Melero are entering their inaugural season with the team.
