BASIS Independent Bellevue is on the lookout for a devoted and enthusiastic individual to join our staff as a Middle School Swim Coach.

The perfect candidate will possess a solid background in swimming, outstanding communication capabilities, and a dedication to nurturing a positive and inclusive atmosphere for middle school students. This candidate will have significant experience in competitive swimming, a fervor for mentoring young athletes, and the talent to create an engaging, enjoyable, and skill-centric training space.

Responsibilities:

* Organize and conduct swim practices bi-weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 6:45 AM to 7:45 AM at Samena Swim and Recreation Club.

* Instruct fundamental swimming techniques and skills while refining mechanics for all strokes.

* Devise and execute racing strategies to ready swimmers for competitions.

* Encourage and motivate swimmers to reach their individual and team objectives.

* Cultivate a positive and inclusive team dynamic that underscores enjoyment, collaboration, and sportsmanship.

* Communicate effectively with parents concerning practice schedules, swim meets, and swimmers’ progress.

* Supervise the team’s involvement in 1-4 swim meets throughout the season.

Essential Qualifications:

* Experience in competitive swimming at the high school level or above (college-level swimming experience is preferred).

* Profound understanding of swimming techniques, mechanics, and race tactics.

* Prior coaching experience or experience working with young athletes (ages 10-14) is greatly preferred.

* Capability to manage a group of middle school students and sustain a structured practice setting.

* Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Additional Qualifications

* Minimum: High school diploma and valid fingerprint clearance. Must have the right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Additional Details:

* The season runs from September 9th to November 6th.

* Parents will drop off and pick up students directly from practice.
