NASHVILLE, Tenn. – – The Belmont University Men’s Track and Field squad is set to return to Vanderbilt for the Vanderbilt Invitational at the David Williams II Recreation & Wellness Center on Friday and Saturday.

Both days of the competition will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

Earlier this week, Belmont secured the first set of Missouri Valley Conference Weekly Awards. Redshirt sophomore Jayce Gray was acknowledged as the MVC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after he shattered the program’s 60-meter record – a record that stood for 18 years – with a performance of 6.8 seconds.

Freshman Jack Perry received recognition as the MVC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. In his first collegiate competition, Perry achieved second place in the pole vault at 4.8 meters. His effort at the Commodore Challenge marked the third-highest vault in the MVC this spring.

The Bruins will commence the Vanderbilt Invitational with the heptathlon, which starts at 9:00 a.m.

Following the heptathlon will be a sequence of field events: pole vault, weight throw, high jump, and long jump. The day will conclude with the 200 meters, 1,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and distance medley relay.

Saturday will showcase the heptathlon, shot put, and triple jump, proceeding into the 60-meter hurdles, 60 meters, mile, 400 meters, 800 meters, 3,000 meters, and the 4×400 relay.
