Dionna’s Delightful Adventures in Learning!

A past educator from Lincoln Parish is bringing enjoyment and knowledge to children and caregivers via her musical YouTube channel. Dionna LeBlanc, more widely recognized on the internet as Teacher Dionna, merges her passion for education, storytelling, and music to craft videos that both amuse and instruct kids in Ruston and beyond.

On her platform, “Teacher Dionna,” LeBlanc narrates tales, performs educational songs, and instructs with an enthusiasm that enthralls young audiences. Utilizing whimsical voices, puppets, and vivid hues, she keeps her youthful viewers intrigued while aiding them in their learning journey. Dionna elaborated on how her teaching style connects with children and their guardians in a way that enhances their educational experience.

“I observed that parents were occasionally feeling overwhelmed trying to discover activities to do at home to supplement the learning occurring in school. My channel is advantageous for both kids and their guardians,” LeBlanc articulated. “The children are gaining knowledge from the materials I provide. By showcasing enjoyable methods to read stories, perform songs, and engage in activities, the parents are also acquiring knowledge. They’re discovering how to connect with their little ones in a delightful manner.”

LeBlanc’s path to establishing her channel initiated during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. At that moment, she was in her tenth year of teaching pre-kindergarten and realized her pupils required more means to learn from home. Motivated by her experiences teaching English online to children in China, LeBlanc opted to start her YouTube channel to assist her students in staying connected amid the shift to online education.

“Everything ceased rather suddenly and there was no time for us educators to devise how this instruction should appear,” LeBlanc remarked. “I have always had a passion for reading and making learning enjoyable. I connected the dots and launched my Teacher Dionna YouTube channel.”

LeBlanc’s enthusiasm for aiding children transcends academic learning. Inspired by personalities such as Mr. Rogers and Miss Rachel, she aspires to promote values of compassion and kindness through her endeavors as well. While her YouTube channel currently emphasizes academic education, her long-term objective is to be an advocate for kindness, compassion, love, and happiness among others.

“Even though academic achievement in this world is significantly crucial, I genuinely believe that teaching and parenting possess a larger obligation to aid these tiny humans in navigating life,” LeBlanc stated. “Language acquisition, social growth, emotional regulation, and demonstrating empathy are equally essential.”

The “Teacher Dionna” channel has garnered high accolades from fellow educators, some utilizing her resources for their own children and classrooms. Glen View Elementary School kindergarten teacher Deidra Scott detailed what she finds remarkable about LeBlanc’s contributions.

“Teacher Dionna possesses an extraordinary ability to engage her audience, pulling you in with her mesmerizing storytelling approach,” Scott shared.
