WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After more than a week away, the Wake Forest women’s basketball team is ready to welcome Stanford for an inaugural matchup between the two schools this Thursday evening at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The Demon Deacons (7-9, 0-5 ACC) are eager to secure their first win of the New Year. In their defeat against Virginia Tech on Sunday, the Deacs overcame a 12-point deficit in the third quarter and managed to take the lead heading into the final period. Senior guard Elise Williams led the team with 15 points, scoring 11 of those during the comeback in the third quarter.
