Get Ready for NSBORO Reads: Grab Your Shirt and Mark February 4th for a Day of Fun!

Promoting the forthcoming NSBORO schools’ event, “NSBORO Reads” was one of my tasks. However, I just noticed this morning that the coordinators are also offering pre-orders for T-shirts with a cutoff date tomorrow!

The shirts, showcasing a delightful design created by a student from Northborough’s Melican Middle School, are being sold to generate funds for “upcoming reading celebrations”. (The unisex sizes range from youth medium to adult 4x.) You can order them online for $20 each here until Thursday, January 16th.

You have a bit more time to register for the actual, 2nd annual event organized by Northborough and Southborough Public Schools librarians to commemorate “the community’s love for reading”. (Although, for organizational reasons, hosts would prefer to hear from you sooner rather than later!)

The 2nd Annual NSBORO Reads festivities will occur on Tuesday, February 4th at Algonquin from 5:30-7:30 pm.

School librarians requested me to inform you that this year’s “FREE community celebration will feature guest readers, book raffles, arts and crafts, games, prizes, photo opportunities, and snacks!”

This engaging event is aimed at celebrating reading within the community. Last year, over 500 participants enjoyed book bingo, bookmark crafting, a literary scavenger hunt, and more. This year’s offerings will be broadened to incorporate more community readers, green screen fun, and button-making. Thanks to generous contributions from our parent organizations, coupled with a grant from the Massachusetts School Library Association, this event will be entirely free…
