Jaguars Dominate: Claim All #HLSD Weekly Honors!

INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy swim and dive squad secured all four Horizon League weekly honors after their impressive performance against Youngstown State. Nathan Rariden received his inaugural #HLSD Swimmer of the Week accolade of the season, while Emmaleigh Zietlow captured her fourth Swimmer of the Week title this season. Sebastian Otero achieved Diver of the Week status for the fifth occasion this year, and Alaina Heyde acquired her first Diver of the Week title this season.
 
Zietlow, a senior hailing from Hartland, Wisconsin, garnered the award after spearheading the women’s swim lineup to a victory over Youngstown State, securing six individual triumphs alongside two relay victories. She triumphed in the 1650 free (16:46.98), 200 free (1:48.99), and 500 free (4:52.36) during Friday’s events, followed by first-place finishes in the 400 IM (4:20.66), 100 fly (56.11), and 100 free (51.22) on Saturday. Additionally, she contributed to winning the 400 free relay on Friday and the 200 free relay on Saturday.
 
Zietlow has now been recognized as Swimmer of the Week four times this season, accumulating a total of 12 awards throughout her IU Indy tenure.
 
Rariden, the current Horizon League Freshman of the Year, achieved his first career Swimmer of the Week honor after recording six individual first-place finishes in addition to one relay victory against Youngstown State. The sophomore from Powder Springs, Georgia, clinched first in the 200 free (1:37.91), 100 free (45.22), and 500 free (4:33.79) during Friday’s competition. He then followed up with three wins on Saturday in the 200 free (1:39.45), 100 free (45.84), and 500 free (4:32.62). Rariden also played a pivotal role in leading the Jags to victory in the 400 free relay on Friday.
 
This signifies the inaugural career #HLSD Swimmer of the Week award for Rariden.
 
Sebastian Otero, a junior from Fishers, Indiana, claimed his fifth title of the season after steering the men’s team to success on the diving boards against Youngstown State. He dominated the men’s contest against the Penguins by winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, securing first place in the 1-meter with a score of 359.70 and clinching first place in the 3-meter with a score of 392.85.
 
Otero now has five Diver of the Week titles this season, achieving a total of 17 weekly awards in his collegiate career.
 
Alaina Heyde claimed her first Diver of the Week title this season after sweeping the women’s diving events against Youngstown State. The senior from Carmel, Indiana, topped the 1-meter competition with a score of 258.23 and seized first place in the 3-meter with a score of 273.00.
 
This marks Heyde’s first award of the season and her fifth career #HLSD Diver of the Week recognition.
