Live from the Cosmos: Sunita Williams and the Astronauts Gear Up for an Epic Spacewalk!

The operation, labeled US Spacewalk 91, will entail substituting vital station equipment and mending the Neutron star Interior Composition ExploreR (NICER) X-ray telescope. The spacewalk is set to initiate at around 8 a.m. EST (1300 UTC) or 6:30 p.m. IST and is projected to endure for approximately six and a half hours.

Williams, an experienced astronaut and a member of Expedition 72, will confront what many perceive as the most challenging spacewalk of her career owing to the intricate nature of the NICER repairs. The telescope is pivotal in examining neutron stars and extreme occurrences in the cosmos, rendering this repair undertaking crucial for ongoing scientific inquiry.

Nick Hague, who is also part of Expedition 72, will join Williams on this undertaking.
