Patriot Splash: A Dominant 22-Event Victory Over Episcopal Academy!

NEWTOWN SQUARE — Germantown Academy’s boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving squads faced off against Inter-Ac League rival Episcopal Academy on Jan. 14 for a dual competition and achieved remarkable outcomes. The Patriots finished first in 20 events and dominated the diving segment of the meet, maintaining their undefeated status both overall and within the league. 

GA Girls 137, EA Girls 49

• Karly Boles ’25 triumphed in the 200 Freestyle (1:50.52) and the 500 Freestyle (4:51.50). Her 500 time shattered the Episcopal Academy pool record previously set by GA alum Sierra Schmidt (4:53.11) in 2014.
• Emily Hamill ’25 secured first place in the 200 IM (2:03.81) and the 100 Backstroke (54.08). Her Backstroke time broke the EA pool record established by Baldwin School’s Anya Mostek (54.52) in 2022.
• Maddie Evers ’26 clinched the 1mtr Dive with a score of 277.35 points. Libby Brewer ’25 placed second with 269.25 points.
• Amelia Gipson ’27 finished with a time of 57.43 to win the 100 Butterfly. She also achieved second place in the 200 IM (2:09.94).
• Sarah Freeman ’25 took the victory in the 100 Free with a time of 50.83. Additionally, she finished second in the 50 Free in 23.77.
• Grace Bell ’27 claimed first in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.43. She also secured third place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.79.
• The quartet of Hamill, Bell, Gipson, and Arden Keitel ’27 won the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:47.30.
• Freeman, Boles, Gipson, and Keitel formed the team that secured first in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:37.97.
• Freeman, Boles, Camryn Jones ’26, and Hamill clocked in at 3:30.45 to finish first in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

GA Boys 120, EA Boys 66

• Heston Steckel ’26 won both the 200 Free (1:47.12) and the 100 Butterfly (52.68).
• Brandon Fleck ’25 posted a time of 20.92 to win the 50 Free. He also took first in the 100 Free at 48.04.
• Oliver Ritchey ’27 won the 200 IM in 1:58.35, edging out the second-place competitor by just .08 seconds.
• Nash Salomon ’28 scored 260.80 points to win the 1mtr Dive, while Gavin Zivitz ’25 secured second with 237.30 points.
• Marcus Rasmussen ’27 conquered the 500 Free with a time of 4:51.62. The sophomore also finished second in the 200 Free, clocking in at 1:47.25.
• Matthew Truong ’26 secured victory in the 100 Breaststroke, finishing in 1:00.90.
• The 200 Medley Relay team consisting of Fleck, Truong, Ritchey, and Daniel Dashko ’28 finished first with a time of 1:38.44.
• The team of Truong, Dylan Shapiro ’25, Steckel, and Fleck won the 200 Free Relay in 1:29.14, beating EA’s relay by .58 seconds.
• Ritchey, Steckel, Shapiro, and Rasmussen achieved a time of 3:18.63 to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.
