HAYWARD, Calif. – Following last week’s events in the pool for Cal State East Bay women’s swimming, the Pioneers secured two weekly accolades from the PCSC. Kylie Beaudet was awarded PCSC Female Swimmer of the Week while Alexia Fajardo received the PCSC Female Freshman of the Week honor for competitions occurring during the week of January 6-12.

Beaudet achieved third place in the 400-yard individual medley (4:33.15) and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.36) against San Diego State. Later in that week, the junior from Henderson, Nevada triumphed in the 200-yard individual medley on Friday against San Jose State (2:08.57) and took third place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.87). She concluded the week with impressive personal records,
earning victory in the 400-yard individual medley with a personal best and NCAA Top 15 time of 4:23.80, a performance that would qualify her for previous NCAA Championships. She also dominated the 200-yard breaststroke with a PCSC leading time of 2:19.63 and recorded a personal best in the 200-yard freestyle of 1:54.98.

On January 7 at San Diego State, Fajardo secured fourth place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.84 seconds. On the following Saturday at UC Santa Cruz, she executed an even swifter performance in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing at 56.58 seconds.
