Elon Musk Fires Back: The Epic Clash with a Leading Gaming Commentator Over Cheating Allegations

Earlier this week, content creator Zack Hoyt, famously known as Asmongold, accused Musk of having others play games on his behalf to enhance his public standings.

Hoyt, along with various gamers, believed it would be impossible for Musk to attain level 97 on Path of Exile 2 while managing multiple companies.

In the footage Musk has streamed while playing Path of Exile 2, gamers have pointed out that he did not appear to be skilled enough at the game to achieve such a high ranking.

“I’m entirely convinced he did not play the character,” Asmongold expressed on his YouTube channel.

In reaction to the video, Musk took a jab at the streamer on the social media site he owns, X.

“Asmon acts like a maverick ‘independent’, yet he must seek permission from his boss to do anything. He is not his own man,” Musk stated.

“I have been on hundreds of streams on YouTube/Twitch playing live with the planet’s best players.”

“I can’t phrase it differently, but, while Asmon IS talented at sharp commentary and ridiculing others, he is NOT adept at video games.”

Musk subsequently shared a screenshot of direct messages exchanged between him and Hoyt that referred to his “editors”.

Hoyt mentioned in a follow-up video that Musk appeared to confuse video editors with “editors” in a news reporting context.

Sharing screenshots of direct messages without the consent of the sender violates X’s terms of service.

However, as the proprietor of X, Musk is not subject to the company’s regulations.

Hoyt also temporarily lost his verified status on X without any explanation.

Musk’s estimated net worth is A$671 billion, making him the wealthiest individual in the world.
