“Light Up the Future: SUPRA x ShinyPhoto Photography Contest and Exhibition for Social Change, S2 2024”

The SUPRA x ShinyPhoto Photography Competition occurred from October 12 to 19, 2024, receiving 150 entries from postgraduate students at Usyd and culminating in an exhibition at a local Sydney gallery.

The submissions showcased a wide array of themes and styles, with judging conducted by participants and audiences via an online voting process. Professor Isobel Markus-Dunworth from Sydney College of the Arts was invited to serve as a professional judge, providing her expert critiques of the works, focusing on elements such as composition, color, and creative expression.

A selection of 20 remarkable pieces was chosen for a 10-day exhibition hosted in a Sydney gallery, presenting visitors with a fantastic opportunity to appreciate photographic art. Additionally, a small networking event was organized during the exhibition timeframe, welcoming participants, fellow photography lovers, and SUPRA members. This gathering fostered engaging conversations about photography, permitted photographers to display their skills and exchange inspiration, and reinforced connections among the attendees.
