EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Track and Field team is heading to Indianapolis, Indiana for the Hoosier Horsepower Classic. This competition will be hosted at the Indiana State Fairground and Event Center on January 18.
 
Field events are scheduled to commence at 10:30 am, starting with the women’s weight throw and concluding at 5:00 pm with the men’s shot put. The track events are anticipated to begin at 11:20 am with the women’s 5000m and finish at 5:55 pm with the men’s 4x400m.
 
Recently, the Cougars showcased a strong showing at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational. In field events, Teagan Sullivan secured second place in the women’s long jump (5.74m), Drew Tucker achieved third place in the men’s high jump (2.00m), Tyler Bell placed third in the men’s 60m hurdles (8.29), Vashanti Reynolds took fourth in the women’s 60m hurdles (9.28), and Maryiah Menicucci finished third in the women’s shot put (12.31m).
 
For the track events, Kaylee Allen achieved third place in the women’s 60m (7.84) and seventh in the women’s 200m (25.93). Taylor Lehman secured fourth in the men’s 400m (49.66), Makayla White came third in the women’s 400m (1:00.68), Tanner Emerson finished third in the men’s 3000m (8:43.93), and the men’s 4x400m squad, consisting of Connor Burston, S McLaine, Konrad Sacha, and Taylor Lehman, claimed third place (3:22.54).
 
Freshman Ella Goodman took third in the women’s 800m, clocking in at 2:23.40. This performance also earned her Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honors.
