LSU Aquatic Warriors Dive into Action at Texas A&M SEC Dual Showdown!

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU swimming and diving squad is set to travel to Bryan College-Station to compete against Texas A&M on Saturday morning for a dual meet within the conference at the Rec Center Natatorium.

LSU arrives after a decisive win against Loyola’s men’s team (N.O.), defeating the Wolfpack with a score of 170-14. The Tigers triumphed in all 10 events, which included the two relays in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The encounter between LSU and Texas A&M will mark the Tigers’ second SEC dual meet of the season. LSU’s previously scheduled away meet at Georgia was called off due to extreme weather conditions in the Athens area.

To kick off the competition, the LSU men’s 200-yard medley relay contingent consisting of Griffin Curtis, Mitch Mason, Pawel Uryniuk, and Stepan Goncharov secured the top spot with a finishing time of 1:28.82.

Subsequently, individual victories for LSU included the 200-yard freestyle (Jacob Pishko – 1:41.46), 50-yard freestyle (Mason – 21.39), 100-yard IM (Levi Thome – 50.41), 100-yard butterfly (Pishko – 50.76), 100-yard freestyle (Uryniuk – 46.49), 100-yard backstroke (Collin Quickstad – 52.20), 500-yard freestyle (Truman Breithaupt – 4:31.37), and the 100-yard breaststroke (Thome – 56.33).

LSU concluded the meet by clinching first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team comprising Curtis, Jovan Lekic, Karlo Percinic, and Pishko recorded a time of 1:23.78.
