EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State track and field will divide its groups this week, with competitors traveling to the Simmons-Harvey Invitational in Ann Arbor and participating at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open in Allendale.

For the second consecutive week, the Spartans will be competing at the University of Michigan. The Simmons-Harvey Invitational promises to be a crowded event, featuring athletes from MSU, Michigan, and Purdue.

In the women’s 800m, Katelyn Stewart-Barnett will make her 2025 indoor track season debut, joining Adit Dau, Madison Osterberg, Reese Powers, and Sarah Forsyth in the competition.

The distance teams will also be well represented, with five women running in the 3000m, spearheaded by Sophia Lucki and Allison Sebold. In the men’s 3000m, five participants will showcase their skills, including Riley Hough and Tyler Pritchett.

Following a strong performance in Ann Arbor last week, the sprint team will return to action this week. Amani Nuels (60m), Kaia Scheffler (60m, 60m hurdles), and Avery Budz (60m hurdles) will be in the spotlight. Five men will compete in the 60m hurdles, led by Logan Allen.

In the field events, Valadian Pallett, who clinched the weight throw title last week at the Wolverine Invitational, will be competing again in the weight throw event. Sophia Mettes and Natalie Blake will make their 2025 pole vault debuts. On the men’s side, Dylan Terryberry, Adam Blue, Landon Cosby, and Sean Mullen will participate in the pole vault.

At the meet held by Grand Valley State at the Kelly Family Sports Center, the Spartans will have representation in sprints, mid-distance, distance, throws, and pole vault. In total, over 28 Spartans will be competing at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open.

Several young Spartans will be participating in Allendale, including Allison Chimielewski, Sophia Bonnema, and Julie Bockenstette in the mile. Three women and three men from Michigan State will compete in the 800m.
