WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The swimming squads at Whitman College exhibited excellence in every aspect, dominating Pacific in both the men’s and women’s events during the Northwest Conference dual meet held on Friday evening at Harvey Pool. The women’s team achieved a score of 148-43, while the men’s team dismantled the Boxers with a score of 181-6.

Shaye Agnew was the standout for the Blues in the women’s meet. She claimed victory in three events, starting with the initial race where she claimed the 400 medley relay (4:19.23) alongside teammates Rachel Sapper, Gwen Empie, and Anneliese Hanson. Agnew subsequently won the 50 free (26.34) and the 100 free (58.29).

Avery Riley and Josephine Piel also achieved multiple victories. Riley finished first in the 200 free (2:03.50) and later in the 500 free (5:26.24), while Piel secured wins in the 200 IM (2:17.15) and 200 breaststroke (2:30.07).

John Leeds and Kyle Milburn led the men’s events. Milburn teamed up with fellow athletes Collen Lokan, Keenan Riggs-Turpin, and Ian Friedrich to secure the 400 medley relay (3:50.90), then claimed first place in the 200 IM (2:05.44). Leeds celebrated two wins, starting with the 50 free (22.08) and followed by the 100 free (48.23).

Whitman will complete the weekend facing Lewis & Clark on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11:00 a.m.
