COLUMBIA, Ky. – Returning to the Holloway Natatorium after more than two months on Saturday, the Lindsey Wilson women’s swimming squad picked up from where it had paused, dominating Asbury (Ky.) and Tennessee Southern.

The Blue Raiders claimed victory in 13 events, which included both relay races, achieving 10 NAIA “B”-cut qualifications and one “A”-cut.

The sole “A” standard time was set by Maaike Broersma in the 100-yard backstroke at 56.79 seconds. She also secured “B”-cut victories in the 200-yard backstroke and the 50-yard freestyle.

Kirsten de Goede recorded three individual triumphs, each with “B”-cuts, in the 100 and 200-yard freestyles as well as the 200-yard individual medley, while Sara Motyl achieved victories in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events with “B” standard times of 1:08.81 and 2:33.52, respectively.

In the 1,000-yard freestyle, Nathalie Medina touched the wall first, leading by nearly a minute, then proceeded to win the 200-yard butterfly with a “B”-cut time of 2:15.32, and secured second place in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing after another NAIA qualifying time.

Natascha Evreinoff claimed a victory and “B”-cut in the penultimate individual event of the day, recording a time of 1:00.85 in the 100-yard butterfly.

Lindsey Wilson’s first relay win of the day was in the 200-yard medley, featuring Broersma, Motyl, de Goede, and Evreinoff. The latter also contributed to the Blue Raiders’ winning 400-yard freestyle relay along with Emma Verkuiji, Hannah Woyscheszik, and Natalie Gorska.

Next Saturday, the Blue Raiders will have one final preparation before the postseason when they host the “Highway 55” Last Chance Invitational.
