CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Eastern Illinois men’s and women’s swim squads made their way to Southern Illinois for their second meet of the weekend on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers’ only first-place finish of the event came in the men’s 200 medley relay, as Andrew Herman, Nolan Wallace, Eddie Myers, and Dismas Dillon achieved a time of 1:36.37.

Myers contributed two additional top-three finishes, earning a second-place time of 4:50.03 in the 500 freestyle and a third-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:00.97), while Conner Colston secured third in the 500 freestyle (4:50.49) and second in the 200 individual medley (1:57.88).

Simultaneously, Sebastian Rosales claimed silver in the 100 butterfly (53.68) as Andrew Herman secured second in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.70).

Other podium placements for the EIU men included a third-place result for Dismas Dillon in the 50 freestyle (21.77) and a bronze medal for Nolan Wallace in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.07).

On the women’s side, Claire Malinowski achieved the first podium result of the afternoon with a third-place time of 1:13.21 in the 100 breaststroke.

Corinne Staneart finished in second place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:13.08, closely followed by Genevieve Biberdorf in third (2:22.28).

Autumn Grinter also secured silver with a time of 1:01.66 in the 100 butterfly. Izzy Glasgow placed third in the 100 butterfly with a clocking of 1:03.13.

Sydney VanderVelde and Anna Mueller completed the 500 freestyle in second and third places, with VanderVelde recording a time of 5:33.18 and Mueller finishing with 5:41.76.

The Panthers are scheduled to return to action next weekend, traveling to Southern Indiana for an intraconference matchup on Saturday, January 25th at 1 p.m.
