Grove City’s Dominance Makes Waves in Men’s Swimming and Diving

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men’s swimming and diving squad experienced a defeat against Grove City, losing 193-95 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Significant Events:

* Anthony Tumino (Hershey, PA/Hershey) triumphed in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.93 before securing second place in the 100 freestyle at 47.61
* The Lions also achieved first and second places in the diving competitions
* Jacob Earley (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) won both the one meter and three meter diving contests
* Earley registered a score of 170.35 on the three meter and 154.65 on the one-meter board
* Zachary Carpeal (Donora, PA/Ringgold) finished second in the diving events
* Carpeal scored 114.80 on the three meter and 106.45 on the one
* The 200 medley relay team, including Isaac Stoeckle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth), Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny), Tumino, and Will Perham (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair), took second place with a time of 1:36.47
* Glenn Fowkes (Vandergrift, PA/Kiski Area) also achieved second place in the 100 backstroke, stopping the clock at 52.82
* Compton secured the runner-up position for the Lions in the 200 butterfly (1:58.47), while Perham registered a time of 58.63 in the 100 breaststroke for second place
