NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University women’s swimming & diving squad achieved another commanding win in dual meet competition, defeating Plymouth State University, 204-69, at the PSU Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.

The Cadets secured first-place finishes in 13 of the 16 events, with Brandy Lewis (Strafford, Vt.) achieving the most personal victories with three, clocking in at 2:28.41 in the 200-yard IM, 5:46.73 in the 500-yard freestyle, and 1:09.50 in the 100-yard IM. She concluded her day with a relay victory as the initial swimmer in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Maria Piekarczyk (Dudley, Mass.) and Alannah Kelliher (Middleboro, Mass.) also secured several individual wins. Piekarczyk swam a 2:42.23 in the 200-yard butterfly and a 30.17 in the 50-yard butterfly, while Kelliher finished the race in 26.99 in the 50-yard freestyle and 35.66 in the 50-yard breaststroke.

Reilly Laitala (Sterling, Mass.) led the field in two diving events, first recording a score of 221.70 in 1-meter diving, before competing in 3-meter diving and earning a final score of 221.92.

Jenna Tschida (Goffstown, N.H.) and Abbey Houghton (Dover, N.H.) completed the list of Cadets who achieved individual victories, winning the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke, respectively.

Furthermore, Deanna Parot (San Diego, Calif.) participated in two victorious relay teams, while Kylie Farris (Leander, Texas) swam the opening leg of the 200-yard medley relay team that began the day with a win.

Lewis, Parot, Tschida, and Kelliher made up the 200-yard freestyle relay team that concluded the meet with a time of 1:49.61, winning by more than 11 seconds.

Norwich, with aspirations of defending consecutive conference titles, will subsequently focus on the three-day Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) from Feb. 7 through Feb. 9.
