“Rohit’s Hilarious Mic Blunder on Travel Rules Takes Everyone by Surprise!”

The Indian team’s captain Rohit Sharma inadvertently spilled the beans and disclosed the “concern” among players regarding the new BCCI team policies on family travel, which were established following the 3-1 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Prior to the customary press conference announcing the Champions Trophy team, the captain, forgetting that the microphone was live, was caught on camera stating he had “plans to meet with the new BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia to address the discomfort among players regarding certain clauses, including the one that limits family members from traveling with the squad”.

When questioned about the regulations during the press briefing, Rohit sidestepped, indicating that his team had not yet received direct communication about the new guidelines from the BCCI. “Who informed you about these rules? Have they been announced from the BCCI’s official account? Let it come officially,” he replied.

The 10-point BCCI guidelines comprise measures such as making domestic competitions compulsory for selection; players traveling with the squad without separate arrangements for their families; and limiting personal managers on tours. Agarkar had previously suggested that the guidelines had indeed been implemented. “If we start, we will likely discuss this endlessly…. I suppose every team has certain rules and many of these have always existed. You continue to refine them…. We have conversed about various aspects over recent months where improvements as a team can be made. It’s not a school. It’s not a punishment,” he commented. “It’s simply that you have some rules in place and when you’re representing the national team, you just adhere to those rules. Once more, all are adults… superstars.”
