MARY LOUISE KELLY, HOST:

For fortunate individuals who find themselves in London and unable to rest on this starry evening, you may want to make your way to the National Gallery. The Van Gogh exhibition there is in its concluding weekend. It is open 24 hours, all night, to afford everyone the chance to absorb it.

ARI SHAPIRO, HOST:

This marks the gallery’s initial exhibition solely dedicated to Van Gogh. It includes over 60 artworks collected from galleries and private collections globally.

KELLY: The exhibition will additionally showcase one of Van Gogh’s renowned self-portraits. He created around 36 of them throughout his career – not out of vanity. Many of the portraits were executed while he was in France and financially struggling to find models, so he opted for the simplest solution and, voilà, painted himself.

SHAPIRO: This is only the second instance of the National Gallery keeping the museum open all night due to significant demand. The previous occasion was for an exhibition of works by Leonardo Da Vinci.
