Join Palestinian Youth Movement DMV, Maryland 2 Palestine, Palestinian Feminist Collective, and Liberation Lens this Thursday 1/23 for a discussion featuring movement photographers and organizers as we debut our photo exhibit on protest photography in the DMV at the Palestine House of Freedom.

Washington DC has witnessed some of the most notable protests in U.S. history. The previous 15 months have introduced new chapters to that narrative, with the city emerging as a central location for numerous national marches and hundreds of demonstrations advocating for Palestine and opposing Zionism. Movement photographers hold a vital position in countering a mainstream media portrayal that seeks to downplay the significant influence of the movement in the streets or portray these protests and their participants unfavorably. Integral to the movement, these photographers capture images that embody the spirit of our people and the fight for liberation: a deep affection for our community and homeland. We are privileged to present the works of 17 of these photographers, who have been in the streets documenting the events of a people committed to achieving justice at all costs. Prints for 26 selected photographs will be available for sale.

Tickets are priced at $10. All proceeds from ticket sales and prints will benefit MECA through our People Stand with Gaza Fundraiser, aimed at supporting our resilient community in Gaza as they begin to rebuild following the genocide. Should you wish to support this event but are unable to attend, you are encouraged to donate or purchase a ticket for someone else!
