Capture Magic: Creative Ideas for Your Next Photography Venture

You’ve scheduled a photo session with me (or another photographer – that’s perfectly fine too!) and are contemplating what to wear or which venue to select. I’ve compiled this brief guide of inspirational photography sessions to assist you with those choices and to ignite your enthusiasm for your own photo shoot!

You’ll notice in these pictures how significantly the ambiance of the photographs shifts depending on the attire, time of day, climate, and venues.

Let’s discuss venues first. I conduct MOST of my sessions in Willowsford, but occasionally families prefer a change of scenery. Here are some options…

Do you want some brickwork in your pictures? These sessions took place at Aldie Mill!

Or we could venture to Mt. Zion Park (shown below), located just a few miles away.

I had the opportunity to visit Jones Point Park in Alexandria for the first time this year (left), and another family welcomed me to their beautiful backyard (right).

Do you wish to include your dog? I would absolutely love that! Here are three sessions where families brought their beloved pets. In the session on the left, we convened at the caboose in Vienna.

Winter sessions provide an abundance of choices for color combinations too! Neutrals and vibrant tones work wonderfully! Here’s an example where they blended several colors with amazing outcomes!

At last, if you’re fortunate enough to have your extended family nearby, gather them for a family reunion session! The one on the left took place in Willowsford, while the one on the right was at Green Spring Gardens near Annandale.
