Swimming with Wings (Hebrew: לשחות עם כנפיים) is a 2023 Israeli-Dutch animated short documentary penned and directed by Daphna Awadish. The motion picture investigates the immigrant journey through the perspective of a young Israeli girl who is learning to swim while wearing clothes in the Netherlands.

The 10-minute short debut at various festivals globally,^[5] including the 2023 Ottawa International Animation Festival,^[6] the Warsaw Film Festival,^[7] and the
FIPADOC International Documentary Festival.^[8] Furthermore, the film received the Grand Prix du Jury at the Meknes International Animation Film Festival in Morocco, along with the ECFA Documentary Film Award at the Olympia International Film Festival in Greece,^[9] being a jury award finalist at the New York International Children’s Film Festival, and securing the ECFA Award at the PLAY Festival within the Lisbon International Children’s Film Festival in Portugal.

Lyri has recently relocated to the Netherlands with her family and contemplates her experiences adapting to this novel setting. Although she would have preferred remaining in Israel, she finds herself navigating a realm abundant in unfamiliar traditions. One of the most notable contrasts she observes is that children in the Netherlands are taught how to swim in their everyday clothes, underlining the distinctive cultural practices she is experiencing.
