FITUR Kicks Off Europe’s Exciting Travel Showcase Season!

MADRID, 20 January 2025: The 45^th iteration of FITUR, which kicks off the yearly European travel mart schedule, is set to occur in Madrid from 22 to 26 January, with Brazil as the featured partner country.

The event organizer, IFEMA Madrid, anticipates participation from 9,500 travel and hospitality enterprises representing 156 nations and featuring 884 exhibitors.

Attendance forecasts indicate that 150,000 industry professionals will convene at the event from Wednesday to Friday, alongside an estimated 100,000 travel consumers visiting during the weekend. In total, the event is projected to have an economic impact of EUR445 million for Madrid, positively influencing the transportation, hospitality, culinary, cultural, and entertainment sectors. Following a year of recovery post-pandemic in 2024, FITUR is once more characterized by growth — a 10% overall rise in attendance and a 19% increase in international participation. The global emphasis is observable in the 101 official country displays — five more than last year — and the inclusion of 11 new nations joining FITUR 2025, primarily from Africa and Asia.

The Travel Technology sector has expanded by 6%, highlighting global trends in tourism booking innovations and showcasing over 100 companies from around the globe.

One of the main features for 2025 is Brazil’s involvement as a Partner Country, with a substantial presence aimed at promoting its various tourism offerings and enhancing its global stature. Data from Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism and Embratur indicates that 2024 was a banner year for international tourism, with 6,657,377 foreign arrivals, marking a 12.6% increase over the previous year.
