WORCESTER, MASS. – The Providence College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams have returned from their winter training expedition in Puerto Rico and recommenced dual-meet contests at Holy Cross on Jan. 18 in Worcester, Mass. The Friar men’s squad was outmatched 161.5-134.5, while the women’s squad was defeated, 188-111.
 
The men’s squad achieved four individual first-place finishes at the competition and swept both relay events. Alex Beauchene was the standout, securing two individual wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.59) and the 100-yard freestyle (47.36).
 
Lauren Wagner shone in the women’s events, attaining two individual victories in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.20) and the 200-yard IM (2:12.21). The women’s team recorded five second-place finishes in individual events and gathered teams that placed second in both relays.
