The Colorado College men’s swimming and diving squad secured their third CC Classic victory in four years, demonstrating another remarkable display on Sunday.

The Tigers concluded with 1031.5 points, surpassing the University of Colorado club team (786), Adams State (442.5), and the College of Idaho (239).

Sam Allen and Andrew Colgan each claimed an individual event victory on Sunday. Allen earned first place in the 100 backstroke, while Colgan triumphed in the 100 breaststroke. In addition, Allen participated in the successful 200 medley relay and the second-place 400 freestyle relay teams. Colgan, on his part, competed on the second-place 200 medley relay.

Collin Ralston, Dax Sherwood, and Step Flanagan accompanied Allen on the victorious 200 medley relay team. Ralston achieved third place in the 100 breaststroke and fourth in the 100 backstroke. Both Ralston and Flanagan participated in the second-place 400 freestyle relay, alongside Jack Hussin and Caleb Peimann.

Peimann placed second to Allen in the 100 backstroke and in the 50 freestyle. Flanagan secured fourth in the 200 freestyle and sixth in the 50 freestyle.

“It was an exceptional weekend of competition and diving for the team,” remarked head coach Jen Buffin. “This segment of our season is one of the most challenging before we commence our preparations for championships. We showcased our depth this weekend, particularly in the relays. Every athlete rose to the occasion, regardless of their feelings, and concentrated on their racing aspirations as we approach the season’s conclusion.”

The Tigers will take a break before competing at the SCAC Championships in Garland, Texas, from Feb. 12-15.
